    Blue Cave (Bisevo island)

    09:00h - 10:00h
Once we depart, it will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive on the first destination of our Blue Cave Tour from Split : Bisevo Island. The reason we're here and the main highlight of the entire tour is the Blue cave, which is located on the southeastern side of the island. Upon arrival, our hostess will head to the sales office and buy your tickets required to enter the cave. There is no additional cost for you as the ticket price is included in the total price of the tour. We are not allowed to enter the Blue Cave with our speedboat; instead, Blue Cave staff will take you on a 15 min ride with small wooden boats. Then you will witness the beauty that amazing glowing blue light creates inside the cave. You will arrive just at the right time when sunlight reflects through the sea bottom and bathes the entire cave in aquamarine light. You can take breathtaking pictures inside the cave but without a flashlight so we advise you to set your cameras before we enter the cave.
Biševo Island is 71 kilometers or 44 nautical miles away from Split. It is composed of limestone and it has many caves carved in it by the sea, Blue Cave being the most famous one. It was once known only for local fisherman as it only had one entrance under the sea level and it was only accessible by diving. The natural light entrance of the cave allows sunbeams to reflect from the white bottom floor and color the cave in glowing blue colors and the objects on the bottom in shiny silver. The first written mentions of the Blue Cave dates back to 1884 when local fishermen showed it to the Austrian artist, explorer and speleologist, Eugen von Ransonnet-Villez. Based on his suggestion, an artificial entrance to the cave was made that was big enough to fit small boats; it is 1.5 meters high and 2.5 meters wide and the size doesn’t affect the lightning in the cave. The cave is 24 meters long, 10 to 12 meters deep, 15 meters high and receives more than 10,000 visitors every year as it represents one of the best natural beauty locations in the entire Adriatic Sea.

    Stiniva beach (Vis island)

    10:15h - 10:30h
Stiniva, authentic Croatian beach located on the south side of Vis island has been voted for the best beach in Europe in 2016. There is no doubt it is beautiful, with its dramatic enclosure of massive limestone cliffs giving it some special aura when you first enter this hidden bay. There is no better place to immerse yourself within natural Croatian beauty than Stiniva.
Stiniva bay is 600 meters long and 100 meters wide with the beach being only 35 meters long and having a seaside entrance that is only 5 meters wide. Stiniva beach is only accessible by small boats or by a 20-minute hike and it is probably the only beach in the world that you can reach by following hiking markings you usually see on the mountains. Getting to Stiniva beach might be challenging, but all the efforts pay off once arriving. White pebble beach, crystal clear sea, old fishermen’s houses located directly on the beach, rich flora, and fauna makes her one of the 82 Croatian Natural reserves. With crystal clear sea and rich underwater world, Stiniva beach is very attractive for diving and lovers of sea depths. If you decide to go diving we advise you to be careful due to the many small boats entering the bay for a visit. In the past 10 years, Stiniva became busy, and when I say busy - I really mean it! Hundreds of speedboats are entering Stiniva bay each day. That is the main reason why we won't spend much time here. We will do 15 minutes sightseeing, without swimming. Don't worry, we have even better locations for swimming waiting for us!

    Blue Lagoon (Budikovac island)

    10:45h - 11:45h
At this point, we have already seen many amazing places created by the sea, and now it is finally time to experience the sea as well! Swimming and snorkeling in a crystal clear sea is something you'll appreciate during hot summer days. Snorkeling equipment is provided by us, so, take a deep breath and start exploring the Blue Lagoon on Budikovac island! There is also a beach bar that offers you an opportunity to refresh yourself with a cold drink.
Budikovac Island is on the southeast side of Vis Island and the lagoon is formed by Budikovac and two other small islands. It is isolated as there are no ferry lines, roads or cars on the Island. In fact, only one person lives on it who takes care of his farm, the animals and runs a small restaurant where you can enjoy organic homegrown ingredients or just stop in for a refreshment. With pebble beaches, turquoise water, and the peaceful environment of the island, you get a chance to experience Dalmatia at her finest.

    Paklenski islands

    12:15h - 14:15h
It's time for a 4th island (actually, group of islands) on our to-go list. This time, we're jumping off the boat to the Paklinski islands. Here we'll spend approximately two hours, which means you'll have enough time to explore the islands, enjoy its beaches or enjoy the shade of the trees to hide from the sun. It's your choice! Also, it should be mentioned, there are a beach bar and a restaurant on the island which will be convenient for those of you who are hungry.
Pakleni or Paklinski islands is a group of approximately twenty islands, ten kilometers long and located off the southwest coast of the island of Hvar, right opposite of the Hvar city harbor. The name comes from the word "paklina," which is the pine resin once used to coat ships. The archipelago is the most beautiful part of the Hvar Riviera, if not the whole of Croatia. Deserted lagoons, azure sea, and numerous little hidden beaches make this place a perfect stop spot and a must go see destination.

    Hvar island

    14:30h - 16:30h
Finally, the sunniest island on the entire Adriatic sea: Hvar! Blue cave trip from Split wouldn't be complete without visiting Hvar Island. This is one of the most popular tourist spots in entire Croatia. You have plenty of historical places, great restaurants, beach bars, and beaches. Hvar attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world and also a lot of celebrities. Hvar town has a long history of being the center for trade and culture in the Adriatic from ancient Greeks and Romans to the French empire during Napoleons time. As part of the Venetian Empire, Hvar was an important naval base with a strong fortress-‘Spanjola’. You will visit a fortress that oversees the town and take most amazing photos; also you can enjoy exploring other architectural and historical sites such as ‘Arsenal’, one of the oldest theaters in Europe, Hvar’s cathedral and the Franciscan monastery. If you are not crazy about the history there is plenty of fine restaurants and vibrant beach clubs. Hvar is a popular yachting destination so there is definitely a lot going on whenever you visit. Since there are a lot of things to do in Hvar, we recommend good time management to make the most of it.

    Return to Split / Trogir

    17:30h
Once we all meet in front of the boat, it is time to go back to the place where everything started - Split and Trogir. It will take about 1 hour to return to Split, and an extra 15 minutes to arrive from Split to Trogir. After sharing group photos, tagging each other on social media, it is time to say goodbye. Hope to see you soon on some of our other day tours!

EXTRA EFFORT FOR BEST EXPERIENCE

Since Mother Nature can be unpredictable sometimes our crew is always trying their best to make to most of each trip. We are constantly monitoring weather conditions and behavior of the sea so in case of any bad signs on the weather we can slightly alternate the tour and take you to some other amazing places. You can see sunken old ships, American bomber plane remaining’s form the WWII (Vis Island used to be the strong military base), locations in the island of Vis where ‘Mamma Mia’ was filmed and Monk seal cave that was home for endangered Mediterranean monk seals. It is one of the most endangered mammals in the world and we are happy that Mediterranean monk seal made a comeback to these waters. Overall, there is so many beautiful things and places to see and our goal is to give you the best possible experience.

  • "Extra destination instead of waiting in the line"

Our host Ivana hopped off the boat to wait for our tickets and skipper decided to take us to the Monk seal cave so we can swim there and have fun instead of waiting in the line for the Blue cave. After an hour or so we boarded on the boat and came back just right in time for our turn. What can I say, you must see the Blue cave, it's that good. Nice job guys, you took good care of us!

  • "Mamma Mia movie locations"

My husband and I took ZenTravel tour to see the Blue cave, so amazing by the way, but we didn't know that skipper will take us to the locations on the island of Vis where Mamma Mia was filmed! I got goosebumps when I first saw somehow familiar location and when skipper told us that those were spots where it was filmed I almost screamed out of the excitement. Thank you so much ZenTravel on this awesome surprise!

  • "Two Koreans travelling through Europe"

Here’s what I have to say about my experience with Zen travel. We booked a tour online and we got all the details well before the departure day. The details were accurate in a minute so all kudos for that. We received all the details about meeting location on our e-mail address (including address, Google Maps link, additional information for Taxi if needed...), and it was loud and clear from the start which is something lots of tour agencies don’t do right. A couple more positives - the boats are obviously brand new, and our ride was very smooth. Our guides, Petra and Dino were highly professional and they are one of the reasons why this is a 5-star review.

  • "Taking this tour in May was a great decision"

Croatia was practically my home for the better part of May. Coming from Liverpool, the weather in Croatia (Split to be more precise) was a proper delight! Zen travel 5 Islands and Blue Cave Split was on my bucket list before even flying to Croatia. I must say, visiting it in May was a great decision. The boat was not crowded at all, in fact, there was just 8 of us passengers along with the cabin crew. Captain Ivan and Petra, I called them… They were simply amazing.

  • "Friendly captain and hostess on our day trip to the Blue Cave"

One thing is certain, this was an amazing experience for both us and our children. None of us expected to see such majestic scenery in Hvar. As a matter of fact, It was by far the best destination on the Blue Cave trip. As for the actual experience, everything was top class. The staff was very friendly and polite, and the skipper knew what he was doing. Well worth the money.

  • "Second time on the Blue Cave trip"

Given the fact I’ve already gone on a Blue Cave day tour 2 times, I reckon I am a well-capable individual to tell you more about it. Well, for starters, the speedboats are brand new. They’re not too comfortable but nothing to worry about. What struck me with the most surprising is the fact the staff is really pleasant. They went above and beyond to give us tips on all destinations as well as answer all of our questions (for an example, they recommended us a restaurant on Hvar island which isn't very expensive). I rarely see that nowadays… So, great job, keep it up and see you next year!

  • "Petra and Dino made our day"

Did the 5 island tour from Split to Hvar & back today! Petra and Dino (skipper and host) were incredibly hospitable, respectful, efficient, pleasant and knowledgeable. They made the entire tour truly fun in addition to me being at beautiful locations all day long! Swimming stops were perfect (skipper gave us a bonus stop by the end of the day), little towns were fun, food was great and the main attraction, blue cave, was breathtaking. Thank you, Zen Travel, for an amazing experience! See you next time!

  • "Crew show us their secret swimming beach"

Our entire group had such a great time on our blue cave tour and we couldn't be happier with the whole adventure. It is a very big day in the sun so bring lots of sunscreen and water, also be prepared to swim because they will take you to some fantastic Croatian swimming spots where the water is crystal clear. Dino and Petra, we appreciate you both taking the extra time to show us a beautiful 'private' swimming location. It was a great reward for being a great group!

  • "Perfect island hopping tour"

The tour was a fantastic little excursion with a day fully packed with activities and an opportunity to visit some of Croatia's most beautiful islands. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in seeing multiple islands in one day and breathtaking views the entire tour. The bonus was an amazing Zen Travel cabin crew that catered to all of our needs.

  • "Lagoon on Budikovac Island was something else!"

For the price, this tour is definitely worth the money! You get to fill out your entire day with new places, new people and new experiences. The tour goes from early morning, around 7 am, almost till the sunset. Blue lagoon on Budikovac Island was something else! I’ve never seen such a crystal clear sea and trust me; I’ve had my fair share of traveling all around the world. Amazing day for all of us and I'm sure you'll feel the same if you decide to go on Zen Travel tour as well.
